Light

Living this close to the Arctic Circle, light has been a problem for me. I have three immobile light sources in my living room and a flash. Every day we're getting more sunlight, but it's extremely indirect and doesn't last long.

To top it off, the little sunlight we do have is guarded by the twin dragons of blinding white snow and crazy cold temperatures. Today when we left to run errands the thermometer here on campus read -27. That's 59 degrees below freezing. That's cold. And since everything is covered with a (stunningly beautiful) blanket of snow, light is reflected in all directions if we go outside.

So the light inside is hard and the light outside is hard.

Luckily, I've never been one to back down from a challenge.
