What a way to start the weekend

Grump, grump, grump! The hubster got up early with the baby this morning and that always puts him in a funk. I'm thinking about sending him onto campus for the day "so he can study in peace" and so he doesn't mess up the good thing I've got going.

So far today I've had a good breakfast, done the dishes, washed the bedsheets, read The Mitten at least 50 times, and gotten the baby down for a nap. It's actually early enough that I'm not sure I'm going to limit the nap, I think I'll just let her sleep. I've been thoroughly productive so far today and I don't want to let that go just yet.

Anywho, Thursday's picture (which I am just now uploading) was not a fantastic picture, but it does represent a fantastic story.

My husband has always wanted a daughter. He has always wanted to have tea parties with his daughter. For Christmas, Adelaide and I got him a tea set. He was thrilled. Not many adult men would be thrilled about getting a tea set for Christmas, but he was. He and Adelaide had one tea party before we left for Christmas Break, and the tea set got put in a drawer to wait for our return. On Thursday, Adelaide found the tea set. She grabbed a cup, ran to the gate at the bottom of the stairs, and began calling up to her daddy, "Dada, Dada, tea! Tea!" He wasn't home at the moment. So she carefully pulled out each and every piece of the tea set and placed each piece on the little cooler that they used as a table for their last tea party. She had it all ready for him when he walked in the door. She ran up to him brandishing a cup and repeated her chant of "Dada, tea!" and they had another tea party. I took this picture just as she finished setting up her little table-scape.

She's basically as sweet and precious as they come.
